Why Honduras?

Honduras is a nation rich in culture, history, and natural beauty. However, many of its people face significant challenges, including poverty, limited access to education, and healthcare disparities. Despite this, the resilience, strength, and generosity of the Honduran people shine through. Our goal is to support this spirit of hope and drive meaningful change from within communities.

Our Initiatives

Grantmaking

We provide critical financial support to local non-profit organizations working on the frontlines of poverty alleviation. Our grants empower these organizations to expand their services, innovate their programs, and ultimately reach more people in need. We focus on initiatives that promote education, social justice, healthcare and economic empowerment.

Humanitarian Aid

We support Herencia Missions Ministries, a Christian humanitarian initiative founded in 2010. They provide food, medical care, legal, and psychological support to impoverished individuals in streets, hospitals, jails, and remote communities. Their mission is to preach the Gospel through compassionate actions, especially aiding those neglected by others. The ministry also supports women and children affected by violence through training and job creation programs aimed at breaking the cycle of poverty and abuse. They rely on donations and volunteer efforts to sustain their work.

Youth Empowerement

One of our flagship initiatives is Misión Rescate in San Pedro Sula. This center helps children who have fallen into drug addiction and life on the streets. It offers a safe haven where they receive shelter, education, spiritual guidance, and emotional healing through Christian teachings. The organization, run by volunteers, works to rehabilitate these children, reintegrating them into society by providing vocational training and educational support. Their long-term goal is to restore their lives and help them achieve a brighter future.

Healthcare Initiatives

In response to the healthcare challenges faced by rural communities, Vamos Honduras supports local organizations by providing funding for outreach programs. These efforts focus on preventive care, maternal health, and access to essential medications.

Entrepreneurship & Small Business Support

We believe that economic empowerment is key to breaking the cycle of poverty. Through small grants and business training, we support local entrepreneurs, particularly women, in starting and sustaining small businesses. By equipping them with resources and knowledge, we help them create income-generating opportunities that benefit their families and communities.
